Notes

The cookie dough fudge recipe starts with an edible cookie dough recipe. The fudge does not contain milk and is made with sweetened condensed milk instead. It does not require a candy thermometer, but does need a microwave. If you want to freeze some for later use, you can freeze it in a freezer-safe container. This fudge is perfect for holidays. You can also store it for a few months afterward.

Cutting into creamy, chocolatey goodness. Learn the art of making the perfect fudge

To create this delectable chocolate chip cookie dough fudge, begin by preparing the pan with parchment paper in an 8×8-inch square baking dish, leaving overhangs on the sides for easy removal later. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt a mixture of chocolate chips and unsalted butter in 30-second increments, stirring until smooth, for about 1-2 minutes. Stir in sweetened condensed milk, microwaving for an additional 30 seconds for thorough incorporation. Introduce a touch of depth with pure vanilla extract and carefully fold in pieces of chocolate chip cookie dough, ensuring an even distribution. Pour the delightful mixture into the prepared baking dish, smoothing it with a spatula for an even surface. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours or expedite the process in the freezer for 30-45 minutes until the fudge sets. Once solidified, use the parchment paper overhangs to lift it from the dish, place it on a cutting board, and slice it into bite-sized squares.
