Alternative Method: Instant Pot Matcha Green Tea Cheesecake

Matcha Green Tea Cheesecake.
Fresh berries or honey drizzle? How do you garnish your matcha green tea cheesecake?

To create the delectable Instant Pot Matcha Green Tea Cheesecake, start by preparing the crust in a mixing bowl—blend graham cracker crumbs, sugar, and melted butter. Line the base of a 7-inch springform pan with parchment paper, greasing the sides. Firmly press the graham cracker mixture into the pan to craft a solid crust foundation. Moving on to the filling, beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth in another bowl. Add eggs one at a time, integrating them thoroughly, and then stir in flour, milk, matcha powder, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined. Pour this luscious filling over the crust, sealing the pan tightly with aluminum foil. Set up the Instant Pot by adding 1 1/2 cups of water, placing a trivet inside, and creating a foil sling. Gently lower the cheesecake onto the trivet, close the lid, and cook on High Pressure for 35 minutes. Allow a natural release for 10 minutes, followed by manual pressure release. After carefully removing the cheesecake, let it cool at room temperature and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight to set. Finally, take it out, slice, and savor your Instant Pot Matcha Green Tea Cheesecake.

Pair your cheesecake with a cup of soothing green tea for the ultimate matcha experience.

Cooking Tips

The journey commences with the careful selection of premium matcha, chosen for its vibrant color and fragrant grassy notes that delicately offset the dessert’s sweetness. Emulating the serenity of a tea ceremony, maintain ingredient harmony by allowing them to reach room temperature. The gentle folding of matcha into the batter mirrors the unfurling of a new leaf, demanding patience for a flawless cheesecake texture. Employ the bain-marie technique as a protective embrace, shielding against cracks and dryness with the care of a nurturing guardian. Post-bake, initiate a gradual cooling process within the turned-off oven, mimicking the serene transition from warmth to repose. A respectful stint in the refrigerator ensues, nurturing flavor maturation akin to the contemplation of depth. Finally, serving requires precision and care, with the first slice being a bearer of anticipation. Garnish thoughtfully, honoring the verdant hue with complementary textures or a gentle dusting of matcha—a culinary creation bestowed with grace.
