Preparing Fish Skewers on Farmer’s Salad using an oven
Fish Skewers on Farmer’s Salad is a healthy and flavorful dish that combines the freshness of a salad with the savory taste of grilled fish. Here’s how you can prepare this dish using an oven.
Step 1: Prepare the ingredients
- Fresh fish fillets (such as salmon, cod, or halibut), cut into chunks
- Wooden or metal skewers
- Olive oil for brushing
- Salt and pepper to taste
- For the Farmer’s Salad:
- Mixed greens (such as lettuce, spinach, or arugula)
- Cherry tomatoes, halved
- Cucumber, sliced
- Red onion, thinly sliced
- Feta cheese, crumbled
- Your choice of dressing (a simple vinaigrette works well)
Step 2: Prepare the fish skewers Soak wooden skewers in water for at least 30 minutes to prevent them from burning in the oven. Thread the fish chunks onto the skewers. Brush the fish with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
Step 3: Cook in the oven Preheat your oven to 200 degrees C (400 degrees F). Arrange the fish skewers on a baking sheet. Bake in the oven for about 10-15 minutes or until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork, turning once halfway through.
Note: The cooking time and temperature may vary depending on your oven and the thickness of the fish chunks.
Step 4: Prepare the Farmer’s Salad In a large bowl, combine the mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, red onion, and feta cheese. Toss with your choice of dressing.
Step 5: Serve Place a serving of the Farmer’s Salad on each plate. Top with the cooked fish skewers. This dish is best served immediately.
