Preparing a Grilled Panini with Vegetables using an oven

Assembling the panini with layers of vegetables and cheese

Step 1: Prepare the ingredients

  • 2 slices of panini bread
  • Assorted vegetables (such as bell peppers, zucchini, eggplant, and onions), thinly sliced
  • Olive oil for brushing
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cheese (optional)

Step 2: Prepare the vegetables Toss the sliced vegetables in olive oil, salt, and pepper. Spread them out on a baking sheet and roast in the oven at 200 degrees C (400 degrees F) for about 15-20 minutes or until they are tender and slightly caramelized.

Step 3: Prepare the panini Brush one side of each slice of panini bread with olive oil. On the other side of one slice, arrange the roasted vegetables. If you’re using cheese, place it on top of the vegetables. Top with the second slice of bread, oiled side out.

Step 4: Grill the panini Place the prepared panini on a baking sheet and put another baking sheet on top to press it down. Bake in the oven at 180 degrees C (360 degrees F) for about 10-15 minutes or until the bread is toasted and the cheese (if using) is melted.

Note: The cooking time and temperature may vary depending on your oven.

Step 5: Serve This panini is best served hot. You can cut the panini in half and serve it as is, or with a side salad or soup.

The panini ready to be grilled on the indoor grill

Our Grilled Panini with Vegetables is a perfect blend of crunchy vegetables and melted cheese, all encased in a perfectly grilled panini bread. The indoor grill gives the panini a crispy exterior while keeping the inside soft and flavorful.

Indoor Grill Cooking Tips

  • Preheat your grill: This ensures even cooking and a perfect crust.
  • Choose the right bread: A sturdy bread like ciabatta or sourdough works best for paninis.
  • Layer wisely: Don’t overload the sandwich; it could make it difficult to eat.
  • Press down: Use a panini press or a heavy skillet to press down the sandwich for a crispy crust.
  • Clean after use: Regular cleaning prevents buildup and maintains the quality of your grill.

Serving Suggestions

  • With a side of chips: A classic pairing for any sandwich.

  • Alongside a bowl of soup: A hot bowl of your favorite soup makes for a comforting meal.
  • With a glass of iced tea: A refreshing drink to complement the meal.
