Cherry Cobbler

This traditional Southern dessert has been enjoyed by many for generations. This classic recipe combines a rich cherry filling with sweet biscuit dough. A generous amount of sugar is sprinkled over the biscuits to make them extra crunchy. It is traditionally served with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream. The cake can be baked up to six hours in advance. It can also be stored for a few days. During the summer, the crumbly topping is also a perfect way to top a salad.

Notes

If you're using frozen cherries, you must thaw them first. Then, add the pitted cherries and lemon juice to the sugar mixture. Then, add the vanilla extract and stir to combine the ingredients. When the fruit is soft and the batter is bubbly, the cobbler is ready. It can be served warm or chilled, but it is best served at room temperature. If you want it to be more appealing, you can serve it with vanilla ice cream.
