  • 1/4 sweet onion, grated
  • 2 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/ pound sirloin steak, cut into strips 3 inches long and 1⁄2 inch wide
  • 3 medium-size Korean rice cake cylinders, cut into 2-inch lengths
  • 1 medium carrot, cut into sticks 2 inches long and 1⁄3 inch wide

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  • Add the sliced beef to the sauce and toss to coat. Marinate for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
