  • 1 cup black soybeans, soaked for at least 4 hours
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  • In a small saucepan over medium-high heat, combine the soybeans and water and bring to a boil. Cook for 15 minutes.
  • Reduce the heat to medium-low, and stir in the soy sauce, sugar, and sesame oil. Cook for 10 to 15 minutes. Remove from the heat and stir in the sesame seeds (if using).
  • Serve warm, cold, or at room temperature.
